SEED Hangout Competition: Ibadan Hangout Highlight
Jun 24, 2025
As part of the ongoing SSTN Hangout series, members from different cities in Nigeria gathered for two enriching experiences, in Ibadan and on the Mainland of Lagos. Each event was uniquely shaped by its host city, blending connection, learning, and celebration in a way that reflects the vibrant spirit of our network.
Exploring Innovation at the Ibadan Hangout
The Ibadan Hangout took place on Friday, May 30, 2025, at IITA and Inqaba Biotec, Ibadan, and was hosted by Mr. Lukman Aroworanmimo.
Ibadan members took a creative two-in-one approach by combining their hangout with a company visit. The day began with an exclusive tour of Inqaba Biotec, a leading African biotechnology company specializing in molecular biology and genomics. Hosted by network member Mr. Lukman Aroworanmimo, the visit gave participants a front-row seat to the future of biotech in Africa.

From DNA sequencing to genomic innovation, members gained valuable exposure to cutting-edge science and the incredible potential of biotech to transform industries across the continent.
After the company visit, members transitioned into a more relaxed setting within IITA, where friendships were deepened, ideas were shared, and the power of community was on full display.
