
Dr. Lolu Ojo Empowers Over 250 Professionals with AI Training Workshop

On March 28, 2025, Pharm. Dr. Lolu Ojo, FPSN—a respected member of the Stanford Seed Transformation Network Nigeria—demonstrated his commitment to capacity building and professional advancement by hosting a one-day workshop titled "Principles and Applications of Artificial Intelligence." Organized under the Pharma Career Advancement Group, the event provided a valuable platform for professionals to deepen their understanding of AI and its relevance across sectors, especially healthcare.
Broad Participation and Engagement
The hybrid workshop attracted significant interest, with over 630 registrants. The session saw 180 participants joining via Zoom, 22 attending in person, and 48 tuning in through YouTube, resulting in more than 250 active participants. The event ran from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., and notably, over 120 attendees remained engaged until the end of the session—underscoring the relevance and quality of the content delivered.
Expert-Led Sessions and Practical Insights
The workshop featured a robust lineup of speakers, including a keynote address by Prof. Omokhoa Adeleye, Consultant at UBTH, who spoke on "AI: Experiences, Advocacy and Possibilities." Presentations covered both foundational principles and real-world applications of artificial intelligence, equipping participants with actionable knowledge to navigate the evolving landscape of AI in their respective fields.
Seamless Execution and Lasting Impact
Thanks to the support of participants and sponsors—most notably Merit Healthcare Limited—the event was fully funded, with a total expenditure of ₦1.2 million. All attendees received certificates, and both training materials and recorded sessions were made available online for continued learning and reference.
